Flying Free: Book blogging for me 2012!

Happy New Year!

I am setting myself a challenge. I am calling it Flying Free: Book Blogging for Me 2012.

The terms of this challenge are:
There are no terms!

You read what you like, when you like and then you review it if you feel like it.

Call me a revolutionary but I want to return to reading for the sheer joy of it. Welcome to 2012 at The Bookette.

These are books that I have been meaning to read for ages and would, in an ideal world, like to have read by the end of 2012. But hey, no pressure!

  1. Sword of Light by Katherine Roberts
  2. Time Riders Book 3 by Alex Scarrow
  3. Pegasus by Robin Mckinley
  4. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
  5. Scat by Carl Haasen
  6. The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan
  7. Heroes of Olympus Book 2 by Rick Riordan
I'm going to add more books to this list as I sort through my shelves.

You can join me if you want and do your own Flying Free post.

I'll put a linky here (just in case) but if I'm going solo that is totally cool too!

I Want To Read That said...

Hey - great idea! I really enjoyed doing my mini 7 books 7 days challenge - I just let myself read whatever I wanted and it was really nice! And I didn't worry about the review side of things :)

Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year!

Ohhh.... am blushing to see "Sword of Light" at the top of your list! (If you manage to read it by the end of January, you'll still be one of the very first people to do so, since it doesn't officially publish until February 1st!)

Happy 2012 to you too, Becky, and I hope you enjoy your "free flying"...

Great idea! Happy New Year, Becky, and happy reading!

Happy New Year Becky. Good on you and good luck on flying free.

Yes. I'd love to join you. And that's a great list of want to reads.

This sounds like a brilliant idea. Last night I started reading a book I bought for myself and probably won't even review and I felt so guilty! And I really shouldn't feel guilty about that!

Sammee, I'm glad you like the idea.

Katherine, I can't wait. Right now I am reading an adult book for the staff book group. Boo! It's Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada and it is just not what I would choose to read about. I really hope it doesn't take me until the end of the month to finish it.

Thanks Luisa and Michele. I wish you both a Happy New Year.

Fiona, yay! A fellow revolutionary. By the way, I loved your sky scarf post but my computer wouldn't accept the word verification. Can't wait to see what the weather does.

Sophie, I declare there must be no guilt for reading a book you want to read this year. Freedom all the way!

awesome idea - I did something similar to that last year, and unfortunately, my blogging practically disappeared. This year, the challenge is to keep doing that while also keeping up with the blog!
Here's to 2012!

What a great idea! I wanted to do something similar to this, but then January rolls around and almost every book to be reviewed this month is a sent-for-review book. Good luck with flying free, hpefully I can fly soon as well :)

I think we're on exactly the same wave length Becky and I'm already a far happier reader. Here's to Flying Free (love the name!) in 2012 :D
